I am a drummer and composer based in Hamburg, Germany. I have been studying jazz drums at the University of music in Hamburg, at „Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts Southern Denmark“ and did some private studies in India. During the past years I make my living from playing concerts in different settings from jazz to rock, afro to avantgarde, musical to cover. I have been musical director at "Thalia Theater" and "Deutsches Schauspielhaus" and I played at festivals like "Jazz Sur Son 31" (Toulouse), "Le Guess Who?" (Utrecht), "Romajazz" (Rome), or "Biennale" München among others. I have had a scholarship of "Yehudi Menuhin e.V." and won the 1st prize at "European Jazz Contest" with my band Jazzpocalypse in Rome, Italy. Besides drumming I compose the music for my own band.

From the first moment I've tried those cymbals I have been convinced, that this is high quality stuff. Hand hammered and uniquely sounding with this mysterious touch I'm looking for. I've always been attracted by cymbals very much and I'm very, very picky, I admit. Having my roots in the jazz drumming I obviously put my focus on the cymbal sound. After testing a couple of  those beautiful cymbals my first impression remained so I decided to sign the contract. I am glad to be a part of the "Murat Diril Cymbals" family from now on!!!
