CÈSAR A LINDARTE OSPINA [ Columbia ]
Professional drummer and percussionist. Graduated from the music school of the Sergio Arboleda University.
César was born in Málaga, Santander, Colombia, and his origins in music began when he was 9 years old. After finishing his high school studies at age 16, he migrated to the Colombian capital to prepare himself to become a professional musician. He began his studies at the Gentil Montaña Artistic Foundation as a Musical Instrumentalist focused on Drums, gaining an honorable mention for his dedication and commitment to art. Subsequently, he got a degree in Music at the Sergio Arboleda University under the tutelage of the renowned Master Fran Calzadilla (Cuba) with whom he studied Afro-Latin multi-percussion. He consecutively completed a diploma course in conducting ensembles under the direction of renowned musicians from the Jazz at Lincoln Center organization.
César has participated in numerous events, festivals and international tours such as HELLO YAK Eurotour “El Camino” in 2018 and “Ride This Yak” in 2019, performing concerts in more than 40 cities and 9 countries throughout the European continent and being the winners of the “Jazz al Parque” festival in 2017 in Bogotá. He has shared with artists such as Espinoza Paz (Mexico), Sie7e (Puerto Rico), Juancho Torres Orchestra, Plutarkamon and his Big Band Time Machine.
Currently, César is part of the group HELLO YAK; he is also the percussionist in TERRANOVA ENSAMBLE and he accompanies several groups in different musical
